Buryl Grace Shoults, age 90, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Green Acres of Greenville.
The daughter of Lorenzo & Bessie (Green) Mercer, she was born on August 2, 1933 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On May 9, 1953, in Grand Rapids, she married Kenneth L. Shoults, and together they raised five children.
A devoted wife and mother, Buryl also worked outside the home as a retail clerk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Kenneth L. Shoults; her son, Rick Shoults; her son-in-law, Tim Koetsier; three brothers, Harold Mercer, Douglas Mercer, and Ralph Mercer; a sister, Betty & Harry Zeeryp; and two brothers-in-law, Gerald Livingston, and Donald & Dee Shoults.
Surviving are four daughters, Pam & John Snyder, Denise & Dave Stebbins, Diane Koetsier, and Stephanie & Kelly Jollands; fifteen grandchildren, Melissa & David Wagner, Nikki & Drew Gordon, Rebekah Snyder, Lindsey & Corey Lilley, Ashley & Matt Ostrowski, Kevin & Katie Shoults, Julie & David Tiffany, Betheny & Alexander Nairn, Mark & Diana Shoults, Bryan Koetsier, Heather Towers, Noah Koetsier, Tiffany Rubenstein, Jamie & Scott Peyerk, and Derek & Makenzie Jollands; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Livingston, and Helen & Ed Shoults; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Green Acres of Greenville for their loving care they provided the last year. Careline Hospice and Spectrum Hospice also for the caring support they provided the last months.
Private family services will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a charity of ones choice.
