Bud Peckham

August 22, 1935 — September 4, 2008

Mr. Clinton A. Bud Peckham, Jr., age 73, of rural Orleans, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 4, 2008 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Eloise Bonnie Briggs and Clinton Arlington Peckham, Sr., he was born on Aug. 22, 1935 and was a 1954 graduate of Greenville Senior High School in 1954. On Dec. 22, 1961, in Greenville, he married the former Anna Gilbertson. Bud worked as an electrical lineman for several utility companies thru his union, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and also served for many years in the Michigan National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Peckham; a sister, Mary Pinault; and a brother, Charles A. Peckham. Surviving are two daughters, Debra Browning of Mulliken, and Enid & Richard Morris of Orleans; two sisters, Betty & Ron Maierle of Clarkston, and Lucille Kortes of Plainwell; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren with a seventh due next month; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including Bill Dakin, Bobby Foote, and Jim Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Visitation is Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, and also on Tuesday at the church from 12-1 p.m. (Please note there is no scheduled visitation on Monday). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society or Spectrum Health Hospice.
