Mr. Bruce Douglas Taylor, born on June 4, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Meredith Stanley Taylor & Betty Jane Taylor, passed away at age 69 on May 2, 2018 in Lawton, after a long struggle with service-related medical conditions. Bruce is a U.S. Army veteran who served a year in Vietnam assigned to the 870th Transportation Company, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He also worked in the Steel Supply industry as a Steel Hauler/Truck Driver at Jorgensen Steel until he retired in 2003. He was of the Catholic faith. He was passionate about flying, boating and cars. Bruce flew many planes, but favored a Cessna 172, he rebuilt many cars, and he loved to spend all day out on the boat. Bruce is survived by his son, David Taylor (Danna); daughters, Linda Taylor and Christina Saxton (Travis); brothers, Steve Taylor (Angela) and Stanley Taylor (Holly); sister, Barbara Johnson; and grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Austin Fee, Devin Saxton, and Isaiah Taylor; former wife of 33 years and dear friend, Julia Lezan; 10 nieces and 6 nephews. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service, officiated by Deacon Steve Taylor, on Monday, May 14 from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, 49012.
