Bruce Deforest

Bruce Israel "Izzy" DeForest, age 41, of Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, September 29, 2013 at Metron of Belding after a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease. The son of Bruce Alden & Cathy Jo (Bergeron) DeForest, he was born on December 7, 1971 in Greenville and had attended the Seiter Education Center. Izzy loved music of all kinds, was a fan of classic television shows such as "I Dream of Jeanie", "Bonanza", and "Gunsmoke", and delighted in shopping at Goodwill. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce A. DeForest on November 2, 2007; his paternal grandparents, Lela & Harry Johnson, Jr.; and his maternal grandparents, Leona & Joseph Terrault. Surviving are his son, Matthew DeForest of Sidney; his mother, Cathy Dukeman, a sister, Laramie & Josh Swiger; a niece, Trinity Swiger, all of Greenville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a special friend, Ian Ashley of Greenville. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where envelopes for memorial contributions to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (hdsa.org). Following Thursday's visitation, relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life in a time of food and fellowship beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Greenville Moose Lodge, located north of Greenville on M-91.
