Bradley Gordon Rodgers, age 62, of Vestaburg, passed away early Friday morning, May 29, 2020 at his home under the loving care of his family and Mid-Michigan Hospice. The son of Charles Archie & Helen Virginia (McGhee) Rodgers, Brad was born on October 7, 1957 in Alma.
After graduating from Alma High school in 1975, he traveled the United States with the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. He and his wife then spent 16 years in Alaska, where he worked for Tesoro and enjoyed horseback moose and bear hunting trips into the mountains with friends and family. You could often find him sitting by a bonfire, picking his guitar and singing. His time in Alaska inspired the writing of several good songs. He eventually moved back to Michigan and later retired as a truck driver for Fisher Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Helen Rodgers; his brother, Kirk Douglas Rodgers; and a grandson, Jason Bradley.
Surviving are his children, Carmen Rodgers of St. Johns, Amanda & Mike Davis, and Jody Rodgers, all of Vestaburg; grandchildren, Haylee, Caitlin, Brianna, Allysen, Gracelyn, Coleman, Isabelle, Javeah, and Jordan; siblings, Charles "Chuck" & Jeanette Rodgers, Connie Rodgers Rhoads, and Mike Rodgers; as well as some very good, long-time friends and family.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, cards or contributions may be sent to Amanda Davis, in support of the Rodgers family.
