Bonnie Lynne Bond, of Lake Odessa, Michigan, was an individual whose spirit was as vibrant as a summer's day, and as warm as a hearth in winter. Born in the charming town of Goshen, Ohio on May 31, 1963, Bonnie touched lives with her kindness and tenacity, making our world a better place. Today, April 10, 2025, we celebrate the life of the woman who was a beloved sister, a dear friend, and a pillar of strength to many. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Bonnie embodied this sentiment, leaving a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Although Bonnie's life was marked by challenges, she faced them with an unwavering spirit and a heart full of courage. Despite being disabled, she never let her circumstances define her. Instead, she defined herself through her resilience, her grace, and her ability to find joy in the smallest things. Bonnie was a beacon of hope and positivity who made an indelible impact on everyone she encountered. On April 20, 1996, she married the love of her life, Frederic, and they shared an unbreakable bond until his passing. As Robert Brault eloquently penned, "In the end, you don't remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that mountain." Bonnie indeed climbed her mountain, living her life with an adventurous spirit and a zest that was infectious.
Bonnie is survived by her loving sisters, Becky Lilge and Jana Preather, whose bonds with Bonnie were unshakeable. Their relationship was a testament to sisterly love, marked by shared laughter, tears, and an enduring connection. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Paula Fitzpatrick and Billy Preather, who instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and resilience that marked her journey; and her husband, Frederic Bond.
