Bonita Rae (Childers) Guernsey was a woman of resilient spirit, a creative mind, and an inspiring heart. Born on January 6, 1952, in Cadillac, Michigan, Bonita's life was a testament to courage and love. Her journey from her birthplace to her final 25-year-long residence in Sheridan, Michigan, was punctuated by the countless lives she touched and the memorable moments she captured through her passion for photography. Whether it was a wedding, a high school graduation, or a simple family portrait, Bonita had an unmatched ability to frame life in all its beauty and splendor. Her culinary skills were equally impressive. From hosting dinners to catering events, Bonita's kitchen was a place of joy, laughter, and delicious meals.
Bonnie's faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Carson City, Bonnie was known for her relentless service and dedication. She also wore many hats at Fellowship Baptist Academy, from being the Parents Club president to orchestrating various activities for the students and even cooking breakfast on exam days. Her deep faith can be best encapsulated in the Bible verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). This was the mantra that guided Bonnie's life, a life that was a beautiful testimony of courage, resilience, and unwavering faith.
