Billy L. Sanders

Billy Litchfield Sanders, age 80, of Vestaburg, Michigan, passed away Monday evening, September 22, 2025, at the Woodland Hospice House in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, with his family at his side.

The son of William & Bessie (Cooper) Sanders, he was born on August 20, 1945, in Vestaburg, Michigan, and had worked starting at the Wickes Grain Elevator in Vestaburg and retired from Wilbur-Ellis in Edmore as an Agricultural Fertilizer Specialist.

An avid outdoorsman, Billy enjoyed hunting and enjoyed being outside caring for his lawn. He had enjoyed having daily coffee with townsmen at The Spot in Vestaburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie; his brother, Clayton; and his sister, Barb.

Surviving are his children, Derek and wife Ginger Sanders of Fruitland, New Mexico, Reid and wife Renee Sanders of Farwell, Michigan, April Sanders and partner Tim Lumbert of Six Lakes, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Cori, Katie, Kyle, Trevor, Sydney, Troy, Trent and Brennan; six great-grandchildren, Dean, Brayden, Hunter, Ivadell, Joslyn and Sophie; his brother, Clinton “Butch” and wife Vera Sanders; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Billy’s celebration of life will be an intimate gathering of his children and grandchildren.
