Billy Morris

January 10, 1950 — September 29, 2024

Billy Ray Morris, known affectionately by friends and family as Bill, was born on January 10, 1950, in Williamson, West Virginia. On September 29, 2024 he passed away peacefully with family by his side. A resident of Reed City, Michigan, for the past 16 years, Bill was a loving family man, a supportive friend, a witty conversationalist, and a loyal companion to all who knew him. A 1968 graduate of Southfield High School, he retired in 2008. His hobbies included: bowling, fishing, golfing and hunting. Bill is survived by his wife, Linda (VanBuskirk) Morris, whom he married on November 6, 2009. His legacy will live on through his children; Shannon (Jason) Jascoe, Billy (Kelly) Morris, Dave (Joni) Morris, Jeff Murray, and his grandchildren; Sydney Jascoe, Braden Jascoe, Gavin Jascoe, Billy Ray Morris and Kendall Morris. Along with nieces, nephews and many friends. Bill was proud of all his grandchildren and tried to attend as many of their sporting events and tournaments as possible to cheer them on. Bill was predeceased by his beloved parents, Rell Morris and Billie Jean (Hunt) Morris; and his sister, Donna (Morris) Daniels. Bill was a beacon of love and support, his presence brought comfort and his wit brought joy. His absence will leave a void, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. We invite you to share your memories of Bill and upload photos to the memorial page at www.MichiganCremation.com as we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a man deeply loved. Bill’s family thanks the nurses, social worker and doctor of Hospice for their kindness and guidance during this difficult time. Thank you to the Reed City volunteer rescue team for their services as well. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial be made in his name to: St. Jude Children's Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or, to your local animal shelter. To honor Bill’s request, there will not be a service. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, 616-754-5638.
