Mr. William Clyde Sherwood, age 59, of Greenville, passed away Monday afternoon, July 9, 2007 at his home under the care of Heartland Hospice. The son of Bernard C. & Gretchen I. (Ellsworth) Sherwood, he was born on May 23, 1948 in Greenville. He had attended Greenville Public Schools and was Vietnam era veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked at the former Electrolux Home Products, until an accident left him disabled. He had been a member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101, enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars, and attended Living Faith Family Church near Turk Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Sherwood on Jan. 13, 1995; and by his mother, Gretchen Sherwood on Dec. 15, 2004. Surviving are his son, Steven Lee Sherwood, and his fianc, Bobbie Fisk, of Lincoln Lake; two grandchildren, Bailey Lee Sherwood and Skyeanne Lee Sherwood; four sisters, Patricia & Eugene Gotwalt, Virginia & Gordon Gotwalt, and Jean Reed, all of Greenville, and Linda & Larry Vernon of Bonita Springs, Florida; an uncle and aunt, Max & Leta Ellsworth of Greenville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends.
