Beverly Lilly

Beverly Ester (Nisonger) Lilly, age 87, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, peacefully at her home in Stanton with her two children by her side. Beverly was born on her family farm in the Riverdale area, Easter Sunday, April 12, 1936. Beverly was very good at and enjoyed being a mother, grandma, great-grandma (G.G), and wife. Family was very important to her and family get togethers were very special. She was a woman of many talents and hobbies, and she received trophies for bowling, golfing, hunting, and fishing. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and mushrooming. Beverly graduated from Edmore High School in 1955. She worked at Central Montcalm High School, and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone in Greenville and made many friends there. Beverly is survived by her husband, John E. Lilly II; a son, Robert L. Sawdy; a daughter, Susan (Sawdy) Bresnahan; four grandchildren, Brennan Sawdy, Clinton Bresnahan (Lynn), Kelly Bresnahan-Stone, Kyle Bresnahan (Misti); three great-grandchildren, Kayla Becker, Bronson and Brantley Bresnahan; a brother-in-law, Dan Lilly (Marian); a sister-in-law, Nedra Rosen; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie (Teachworth) Nisonger; her six sisters, Rosetta, who died at birth, Maxine Mudge, Wilma Kerns, Mildred Avery, Roberta Eckert, and Donna Griffis; a son-in-law, Brian Bresnahan; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Rosen. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced later. Contributions in Beverly's memory can be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
