Betty Jean Williams, our dear sister, aunt and friend was born on December 15, 1943 at St. Mary's Hospital. Grand Rapids. She passed away after a long illness on March 9, 2020.
Jean graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School in 1962. She attended Michigan State University and received her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1971.
She spent many years living and working in Seattle, Washington, returning to Michigan in the 1990's where she lived in Grand Haven, before returning to Middleville in 2006.
Jean enjoyed music, gardening, reading, socializing, the Detroit Tigers, and traveling. Her many trips took her to Germany, Belize, Spain, Mexico, and many other spots around the world.
She is survived by her aunt, Mary Roberts, brother, John & Mary Ann Williams; sister, Joan & Roger Urbanski; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, James E. & Virginia Mae (Misner) Williams; and brother, James E. Williams Jr.
The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care of Metron of Belding and Spectrum Health Hospice with special thanks to Mandy Krum and Cheryl Masalkowski. Those who wish to make contributions in Jean's memory can direct them to Spectrum Health Hospice. Services and burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, in Middleville will take place privately.
