Betty Walcott

Betty Lou (Mayerhofer) Walcott, age 84, went to be with the angels in heaven on August 11, 2018. The daughter of Paul & Stella (Smuetczak) Mayerhofer, she was born on September 19, 1933 in Saginaw. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marian. Betty will be greatly missed by her children, Dianne & Greg Hyde, Cheryl Kegeler, Steve & Sharon Walcott, Carolyn Ebels and Dan Walcott. She is also survived by a brother Robert Mayerhofer, sister Julie Roth, sister-in-law Helen Vanthoff; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Michigan, Carrie, Kim, Linda, and Cheryl for the care they gave to Betty. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2894 Patterson Ave SE, Grand Rapids.
