Betty Jean Stark

Betty Jean Stark (Miller), age 91, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on August 23, 1933. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her role of devoted wife/mother/grandmother/great-grandmother.

Betty was devoted to her family and cherished family gatherings, baking, sewing, and knitting for them. She enjoyed golfing and bowling and participated in both for many years.

Betty knit and donated over 100 afghans for Warm Up America, an organization she participated in for many years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Merle (Mumby) Miller; siblings Doralea, L.G., and Keith; and her son, Richard Stark.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 72 years, George Stark, her daughters, Jeanne Stark (Rodger Bliss), Roberta (Stark) Otis (Jerry); grandchildren Brian Stark (Kathleen), Kimberly Stark-VanNoord (Jason), Katie (Otis) Nagy (Josh), Holly (Otis) Pick (Zach); and 8 great-grandchildren.

Betty's generosity, kindness, and devotion to family will live on through those she shared her life with.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Trillium Woods and Faith Hospice for filling her final days with love and compassion.

Family will celebrate Betty's life with a private gathering on what would have been her 92nd birthday.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
