Berneice Jones

Berneice Jeanine Jones, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The daughter of Edward & Mable (Johnson) Haling, she was born on June 3, 1935 in Stanton and was a 1954 graduate of Sheridan Agricultural High School. For 32 years, Berneice worked at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville, enjoyed traveling, bus trips, and Chinese food and had attended Faith Baptist Church, and later Calvary Baptist Church, both in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a special aunt, Gusta Haling (who raised Berneice and her brothers after their mother's death); an infant son, Rodney Jones in 1961; her husband, Lowell Jones in 2001; two brothers, Herschel Haling and Rynal Haling; and two special cousins, Marvin Johnson and Marion Alexander (raised with her by Aunt Gusta). Surviving are her three sons, Daniel & Barb Jones of Greenville, Ronald & Jennifer Jones of Greenville, and Randy & Pat Jones of Ionia; her grandchildren, Christopher & Sarah Jones, Andrew Jones, Shaleena Jones, Makayla Slocum, Dan & Laura Ketchum, Jay Ketchum, and Jennifer & Paul Waters; several great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Lyle & Marlene Johnson, and Elaine Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, 12501 Montcalm Road, Greenville, with Pastor Bart Bouman officiating. A luncheon will follow the ceremony and burial will take place privately at Sidney Township Cemetery.
