Barthelemy Martin

Barthelemy R. Martin, age 81, of Jenison, Michigan, passed away under the care of his faithful and loving wife and into the loving arms of his lord and savior on Monday, August 12, 2024. The son of Joseph & Germain (Drapheau) Martin, he was born on January 27, 1943 in New Brunswick, Canada. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Bart served honorably during the Vietnam war era and attained the rank of Corporal. After the Marine Corps, Bart worked for the Chrysler Corporation for 36 years and met and married Mary in Detroit, MI on September 27, 1969. Bart dedicated himself to his children and family. He enjoyed taking walks with his son's dogs, riding his bicycle, swimming, chess, cribbage, singing whenever he caught a tune, going to church, talking with his siblings, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He liked meeting new people and made friends wherever he went and could brighten your day with a joke and his smile. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph & Germain Martin; his son, David Martin; and his brothers, John and Louie Martin. Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary F. Martin (Hamilton); their children, Rich (Tasha) Martin of Jenison, MI and Dean Martin of Jenison, MI; two grandchildren, Devin Martin and Abbie Martin of Jenison, MI; a sister, Judy Martin; brothers, Paul, Raymond, and Morris Martin; his siblings-in-law, Joanne (John) Radvansky, Kaye Moore, Ronnie Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, and Karen Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. A private family ceremony will take place.
