Dusty, Mike, Laurie, Tim, Kim and Tony would like to say "not Goodbye but See you soon" to their Mother Barbara Straub Barbara J. Straub, age 82, of White Cloud, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday February 11th 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Oklin & Jessie (Simmons) Smith, she was born May 14, 1935 in Grand Rapids. Barb was 82 years young and would often tell people she was not old. Most people she met would call her Ma or Grams. No matter which one you called her, a hug upon arrival and another when leaving was mandatory, and she made sure to get them both. In her earlier years Barb worked at Pridgeon and Clay before retiring to her lake house in the country. She filled her retirement with camping, knitting, crocheting, watching MASH or reading V.C. Andrews novels. Barb cherished the moments that she visited with her family and friends. She loved to know what was going on with everyone and wanted to make sure others were taken care of. Barb loved to see pictures and would make room on her wall for each new one she received. She will be greatly missed by those she touched throughout her many years. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
