Barbara Broughton

Barbara Ann (Burke) Broughton, age 79, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022, at Glen Arbor Hospice Facility after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born August 16, 1942, in Dayton, TN to Walter and Orpha (Morgan) Burke. She was one of 12 children. Barb enjoyed spending time with her family. With a spicy, wonderful attitude she held a successful lifelong career in hair styling in both Battle Creek, MI and Las Vegas, NV. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her loving children; Pam Broughton and Doug (Terry) Broughton; granddaughters, Emma Young, Katie (Jeff) Torres, and Maggie and Mia Broughton; great-granddaughters, Lilly and Maddi Torres; siblings, Pauline Butcher, Mary Ellen Harris, Audrey Mora, Walter (Jr) Burk, and James (Debbie) Burk; sisters-in-law, Junelle Burke and Victoria Burke; her partner of 37 years, Chuck Doss; and many nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lillie Mae Hueckel, Alma Burke, Thelma Conners, Gary Paul Burke, Loren Burke and Earl Burke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Hospice of Southwest MI, 7100 Stadium Drive Kalamazoo MI 49009. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service at Floral Lawn Cemetery will be held later in the spring.
