Mrs. Ava E. Sipperley, age 92, of Greenville, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 10, 2010 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Charlie & May (Dickinson) Waldron, she was born on September 27, 1917 near Detroit.
She lived most of her life in Greenville, where she met and married the love of her life, Norris J. Sipperley, on January 3, 1937. Ava enjoyed taking care of many children through the years, including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and fishing, as well as family get togethers. She loved living in the country, watching wild life, walking through the woods, and hunting for mushrooms. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could have and deeply loved all of her family.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 73 years, Norris J. Sipperley; two daughters, Marjorie & Bob Beechler, and Jackie & Roger Copeland; two grandsons, Rick Copeland, and Ken & Judy Copeland; three great grandchildren, Christopher Copeland, Mykalia Copeland, and Kendra Copeland; a sister, Thelma M. Goodwin; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special nieces, Patsy, Erin, and Kammie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday. Envelopes for memorial contributions to the National Marfan Foundation (www.marfan.org) will be available at the funeral home.
