Mrs. Audrey Colleen King, age 81, of Greenville, passed away late Thursday morning, September 24, 2009 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Michigan.
The daughter of Harry & Carrie Opal (Raymond) McQuay, she was born on Nov. 12, 1927 in Greenville. On Dec. 24, 1942 she married Arvin Wyman King and together they raised four children.
Audrey retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company and had been an active member of UAW Local 137. She enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers, traveling, and delighting in find a good bargain but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Shirley, Ford, Leon, and Leroy McQuay; two sons, Randy King and Gary King; and a great grandson, Corey Anthony Lynch.
Surviving are her husband of almost 67 years, Arvin W. King; a daughter, Sandra Lynn (King) Smith-Collins; a son and two daughters-in-law, Jerome Jerry & Marcia King, and Joanne King, all of Greenville; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings-in-law, Rose McQuay, Larry Sr. & Mildred Mickie King, and Marilyn & Maurice Kimmel; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with burial following at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. The Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate.
Visitation is Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to either the Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Judes Childrens Hospital will be available.
