Audrey Fae Aylsworth, a lifelong Greenville resident, passed away Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024 on her 95th birthday at her daughter's home near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Fred L. & Lucile E. (Hubbs) Thompson, she was born on May 14, 1929 in Greenville and was a 1947 graduate of Cedar Springs High School. On October 21, 1949, in Rockford, she married Claude Ernest Aylsworth and together they raised four children and enjoyed almost 68 years of marriage until Claude passed away on June 2, 2017. Audrey also worked outside the home as a licensed practical nurse for over 50 years, both at the former United Memorial Hospital and for several local physicians in their medical practices. An active league bowler for over 50 years, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Charles Catholic Church and delighted in playing cards and trips to the casino, but most of all cherished time spent with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Aylsworth; and their daughter, Debbie Kemp on February 9, 2018. Surviving are her children, Cindy & Mike Raby of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Tom & Shawn Aylsworth of Greenville, Jon & Paula Aylsworth of Rockford; a son-in-law, Bill Kemp of Greenville; thirteen grandchildren, Steve & Erin Kemp, Jenny & Scott Burnham, Jack & Lauren Aylsworth, Amy & Joey McConnell, Charlie & Denise Kemp, Ryan & Candice Aylsworth, Justin & Luciana Aylswoth, Chris & Christy Brimmer, Jeff & Theresa Brimmer, Becky Raby, Mike Raby, and Kimberly Raby; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family is from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2023 at the First Congregational Church, 126 E. Cass Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Rev. Ed Milam, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate and a luncheon will follow the ceremony. Rite of Committal will take place privately at Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville, with the Rev. Father James B. Wyse of St. Charles Catholic Church presiding. Instead of flowers, contributions in Audrey’s memory to the Greenville Area Senior Center or the Corewell Health Foundation-West Michigan (Greenville Fund) would be appreciated.
