Arnulfo Romero

Arnulfo Romero, age 70, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was born August 8, 1951, in San Benito, Texas, to the late Benito Rivera-Romero and Maria Torres Torres. Arnulfo married the love of his life, Raquel Guerra-Pizana, in Brownsville, Texas, on December 28, 1972. Arnulfo was a hard worker and provider for his family. He was always willing to help others and was known for having a big and giving heart. He loved music, cars, and most of all spending time with his family. His heart was happy in his last few days when he was able to sit on the porch and see all of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years, Raquel; five children, Enrique (Nereida) Romero, Aide (Miguel) Lamas, Maira (Roberto) Perez, Eva (Anthony Puite) Romero, and Alma (Juan Lamas) Romero; grandchildren, Rubi, Enrique Jr., Dalila, Crystal, Tristan, Jonathan, Gabriela, Benito, Angelica, Elizabeth, Bianca, Natalia, Lyla, Lana, Roberto Jr., Crus Angel, Adrian, Erik, Ruben, Aleny, Miriam, Selena, Auzyne, Geronimo, Katrina, Rebekkah, Brianna, Juan Daniel, Leilani, Isaac, and Eli; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Arnulfo was preceded in death by his parents and infant great-grandson, Enrique III. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Spectrum Health Hospice and Butterworth Hospital, especially Dr. Amelia Martin. Visitation will take place Friday, September 24, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006.
