Arnold D. Andersen, 92, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Corewell Health-Greenville Hospital Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. The son of Arnold & Carrie (Wood) Andersen, he was born on February 19, 1933 in Lakeview, Michigan.

A proud veteran of the Korean War, Arnold served with the United States Army where he attained the rank of Private First Class, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Ribbon, and a Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. He was a long-time member of the Sitts-Halverson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5065 in Sheridan.

On February 13, 1982, in Greenville, he married Linda Sue Ritter and together they enjoyed nearly 44 years of marriage. Arnie retired from the former Electrolux Home Products where he was a member of UAW Local No. 137. Arnie enjoyed fishing, watching basketball and baseball, and delighted in playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Jackie Plaster and Brenda Plaster; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan & Jack Strickler; and a brother, Bruce Andersen. Surviving are his wife, Linda Andersen of Greenville; three sons, David & Pam Andersen and Rich Andersen, all of Indiana, and Timothy & Karan Ritter of Pascagoula, Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Lois Andersen of Stanton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Arnie’s nephew, Pastor Dan Trann, will officiate and a luncheon will follow at the Sheridan V.F.W. Hall. Committal services, with military honors, will take place in the spring at South Sidney Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, Arnie would have appreciated contributions in his memory to the Sitts-Halversen V.F.W. Post No. 5065. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
