It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Armando Girón Castellanos, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Armando passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness. Armando grew up with a strong sense of family and community.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shelly (Petersen) Girón, and his cherished children, Emily and Kevin Girón. Armando was also a loving stepfather to Anastasia, Ariel, Cesar, and Sierra deSol Peralez, whom he embraced as his own.
As a grandfather, Armando took immense pride in his grandchildren: BelleDonna, Aurora, Hendrix, Gabriella, Sofia, Enrique, Elisabeth, and William. He adored spending time with them, sharing stories and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Armando's love extended to his pets, the Chihuahuas, Chico and Nacho, who were always by his side, providing comfort and companionship.
He was a devoted son to Mrs. Angela Girón; and a supportive brother to his siblings, Maria, Isabella, Betty, Hector, and Miguel. Armando's family also includes many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Armando's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. He will be remembered for his kindness, his strength, and his ability to bring people together. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Armando's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Joseph the Worker Church, located at 3138 Birchwood Ave SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 48548. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the West Michigan Jazz Society, in Armando's honor. Additionally, a gathering to celebrate his life with fellow musicians, family, and friends will be held later this summer. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
