Arlin Vandenbosch

June 7, 1943 — February 4, 2025

Arlin Howard VandenBosch, age 81, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went to join his wife June in heaven and be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was born June 7, 1943, in Zeeland, Michigan, to the late Albert and Hattie (VerHoof) VandenBosch. Arlin married the love of his life, June Herms on May 8, 1964. Together the couple raised their four children and celebrated 42 years of marriage before June passed away in January of 2007. Arlin worked many years in the metal and chrome plating industry until his retirement. He enjoyed going out to breakfast with his friends and playing a good game of bingo. Arlin was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Wolverines and Lions play football. Survivors include his four children, Terry (Shari) VandenBosch, Scott (Karen) VandenBosch, Todd (Ann) VandenBosch, and Tammy (Rob) Baird; 13 grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Amanda, Sheila, Michael, Adam, Eric (Kira), Kyle (Alisha), Alyssa, Ondrea (Megan), Riley (Andrew), Tanner, and Mason; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, June VandenHeuvel; brother-in-law, Cliff DeYoung; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Arlin was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; siblings, Andrew (Julie Ann) VandenBosch, Dorothy (Floyd) Patty, Helen DeYoung, Katherine (Earl) Brummel, and Mary Lou (Darwin) Fuglseth. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and as Arlin requested no services will be held. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Trinity Health St. Mary’s Hospital for taking the time to listen, help, and care for Arlin throughout this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
