Arlene Peffers

Arleen Ione (VanDuren) Peffers, age 74, of Holland, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 12, 2010 at Providence Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Zeeland. The daughter of George F. & Ruth Leone (Strong) VanDuren, she was born on March 18, 1936 in Grand Rapids. A devoted mother and grandmother, she had also worked outside the home as a printing typesetter. Surviving are her children, Shilo Johnson of New York, Ardith (Robert) Meaney of Holland, and Dean (Anne Thorp) Peffers of Walker; a sister, Carol (Robert) Meehan of Coldwater; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at Beechwood Reformed Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland.
