Arlene Vonda Davis, age 82, of Gowen, Michigan, passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2026 at her home under the loving care of her family and Elara Caring & Hospice.
The daughter of Raymond Alfred & Flora M. (Johnson) Sherman, she was born on September 25, 1943 in Lakeview, Michigan, and was a 1962 graduate of Lakeview High School.
On June 30, 1962, she married Scotty Leo Davis and together they had four children and enjoyed nearly 31 years of marriage until Scotty passed away on June 18, 1993.
Arlene retired from the former Electrolux Home Products after 25 years of service, enjoyed watching the classic television shows MASH, Emergency, and Adam-12, as well as old westerns, but found her greatest joy in her grandchildren. Arlene was a long-time member of Sidney Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Scotty L. Davis; a son, Kelly Lee Davis; a daughter, Cindy Lou Davis; five sisters, Jeanette Rieckman, Beverly Abbott, Susan Rhanor, Joyce Schutte, and Nora Rowland; and a brother, Joel Sherman.
Surviving are her son, Scotty L. “Scott” Davis II of Grandview, Texas; a daughter, Connie Lynn Painter of Greenville; six grandchildren, Alicia Chaney, Joshua Eldridge, Jason Crater, Parker Kilts, Anna Kilts, and Allison Kilts; two great-granddaughters, Faith Chaney and Abigail; a sister, Donna Toth; a brother, Terry Sherman; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rev. Bernard J. Loew, pastor of Sidney Christian Church, will officiate and burial will take privately at Oakfield Township Cemetery.
Envelopes for memorial contributions to Sidney Christian Church will be available at the funeral home.
