Ardith Wood

Ardith Elaine Wood, age 71, of Six Lakes, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at her home under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. The daughter of Arley & Lena (Bennett) Crawford, she was born on November 7, 1941 in Langston and was a graduate of Lakeview High School. On July 7, 1961, in Langston, she married Jack C. Wood and together they enjoyed over 51 years of marriage. Ardith retired from the Buck Stop Lure Company in Entrican and enjoyed cardmaking, scrapbooking, bowling, and spending the winters in Frostproof, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jerry Wood and Jack Wood, Jr.; a brother, Elwood Crawford; and a brother-in-law, Sam Crawford. Surviving are her husband, Jack Wood, Sr.; their children, Jeff & Fran Wood, and Troy Wood, all of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Ashley & Ben Covey, Brittany Wood, Chelsey Wood, Danelle Wood, and Terry & Amanda Vansconis; a brother, Alva & Tootie Crawford of Lakeview; four sisters, AnnaMae Crawford of Howard City, Erametta & Leonard Varney of Sheridan, Shirley Garbow & Owen Wilson of Greenville, and Mable & Red Lumsden of Marne; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wood of Tustin, California, Phyllis & Dale Rasmussen of Lakeview, and Marion Crawford of Mecosta; a brother-in-law, Joe & Cherie Wood of Greenville; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
