Annie G. (Schutte-Herroon) Taylor, age 49, of Spencer Township, was called home on Monday afternoon, Dec. 1, 2008 from Spectrum Health - Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, after a two-year long fight with cancer. The daughter of Mildred Louise (Coward) and John Fredrick Schutte, Sr., she was born on April 5, 1959 in Greenville. For many years, Annie worked as a waitress and enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending summer days on the water in the pontoon, and growing and arranging flowers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Schutte; her first husband, Frank Jack Herroon on July 12, 2002; a sister, Cindy Wilson; and her step-mother, Mary Schutte. On Nov. 11, 2004, at Greenville, she married Rick E. Taylor, who survives. Also surviving are her father, John Schutte of Greenville; her children, Colt Herroon, Jessica & Shane Balahoski, all of Greenville, and Levi Herroon & Season Antoine of Belding; three-step children, Val Taylor of Gowen, Dusty Taylor of Grand Rapids, and Brandy & Joel Roher of Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Schutte of Orleans, and Mary Katie Tarver of Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, John Jr. & Joyce Schutte of Sidney; her mother-in-law, Nevene Taylor of Gowen; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Burial will take place privately at Spencer Mills Cemetery. Instead of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to consider the needs of the family. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
