Anne Louise (Brittain) Gorveatte, age 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and woman of God, passed from this earth into the presence of her Savior on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at her daughter's home in Michigan. Anne was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on July 21, 1939 to Jack and Winnifred (Shaw) Brittain.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Hugh. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her faithful and loving husband of fifty-eight years, Dr. Kenneth Gorveatte; four children, Dr. Mark (Sherry) Gorveatte, Ruth (Fred) Neyman, Beth (Rev. Stephen) Jones, and Rev. Joel (Tracy) Gorveatte; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean and John; and a host of friends from Beulah to Brooksville.
Anne served faithfully in ministry alongside her husband using her gifts of music and hospitality. Her family was especially proud of her accomplishments of completing her Royal Conservatory Tenth Level Piano Examination with honors from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, and her Summa Cum Laude graduation from Indiana Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Business.
According to her wishes, her body was donated to medical research. A private family gathering will be held in Indiana on Thursday, December 22, 2016 followed by a public memorial service at Brooksville Wesleyan Church (Florida) on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:30 pm. Family visitation will be held in the church foyer 30 minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations could be made in her memory to Brooksville Wesleyan Church or Kingswood University.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
