Anne Daumler

May 2, 1960 — April 12, 2020

Anne Marie Daumler went to live eternally with her Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020. She was born on May 2, 1960 in Kokomo, Indiana and welcomed into the family of Harold John Daumler Jr. and Rosemary Jane Lutz Daumler as a cherished fourth daughter. From her earliest days, she was recognized by her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and radiant sky blue eyes. Anne had many life changing experiences that fashioned her personality and outlook on life. She was identified as having learning challenges early in elementary school which always affected her self-esteem. She loved the water and was happiest at her family's summer home on Gun Lake or any ocean beach. She excelled in athletic pursuits and especially enjoyed softball, volleyball, swimming and scuba diving. She moved to Japan with her parents and sister, Kathy as a freshman in high school. This was a drastic change, and although she made friends and excelled athletically, she began a relationship with alcohol to ease her pain. She returned to Michigan and lived with her sister, Marti and brother-in-law, Rob for her senior year at North Farmington High School. After graduating, Anne worked at various jobs while struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. With God's help, along with that from AA and NA counselors and programs, she turned her life around. Even more impressively, she was recruited to become a peer support specialist by Barry County Mental Health. She was terrified of the training involved but pursued it with a determined spirit that her family knew she possessed. She served in this role for many years until ill health made it impossible to continue. Anne not only loved people but dogs as well. During her adult years, she had three cherished toy poodles, Shelbi, Mochi, and Chino who filled her days with responsibility and joy. Anne is survived by her parents in Ft. Myers, FL; her sisters, Jill Pein (Richard) La Crosse, WI, Marti Flutur (Rob) Farmington Hills, MI and Ft. Myers, FL, and Kathy Foster, Denton, TX. She is also survived by nieces, Sara Cowells (Joel), Molly Pein, Jenny Foster (Alex) and Rebecca Pein and one nephew, Tim Flutur (Sonia). All of them remember Anne with love and affection and being called cutie as children! She also is survived by great nieces and nephews, Ryan, Rachel, Zachary and Zoe Cowells, Grace, Evie and Lucas Hargis, and Camila and Gloria Flutur and by 10 first cousins who remember her fondly. Anne loved her friends and neighbors dearly and many of them were instrumental in her recovery and her willingness to go on and fight the good fight even though her body was failing. She looked forward to her Heavenly home of health and peace. At some point, Anne will be celebrated when our days of social isolation are over. If desired, memorial gifts can be given to the charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
