Anna Rose Rivera, age 74, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, May 6, 2013 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Michigan. The daughter of John & Mary (Hale) Kovatch, she was born on December 22, 1938 in Fargo, North Dakota. On August 22, 1955, in Fargo, she married Anastacio E. Pete Rivera, Jr. and together they had four children and enjoyed almost 48 years of marriage.
Anna worked for 18 years at the former Ore-Ida plant and retired from Amway. She was a faithful member of St. Charles Catholic Church, enjoyed a number of handicrafts including crocheting, sewing, glass work, cake decorating, and photo albums, however, her greatest joy was in time spent with her family -- especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathi M. Rivera; and her husband, Pete Rivera on June 4, 2003.
Surviving are her children, John & Andrea Baker of Trufant, Tina & Charles Schilling of Gowen, and Lisa Rivera of Smyrna, Georgia; six grandchildren, Genesis Rivera, Jenny & Tim Curnutt, Cliff & Rachel Bartrum, Jessy & Allen Bissell, Jason & Michele Schilling, and Nichole Schilling and her fiance A.J. Purucker; twelve great-grandchildren, Tamara Bartrum, Dren Bartrum, Tren Bartrum, Tiosha Bartrum, Troy Barnett, Kayla Bissell, Zeth Curnutt, Alexander Bissell, Tyler Matulaitis, Skyler Matulaitis, Maya Schilling, and Carley Schilling.
