Anna Bedes

Anna Caroline Bedes, age 96, of Baldwin, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Grand Oaks Nursing Center in Baldwin under the care of Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Orley Ernest & Florence Violet (Taylor) Sias, she was born on November 14, 1926 in Hartford. On January 15, 1946 in Fennville, she married Steve Bedes, Jr. who preceded her in death. Together, they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. They had no children, but loved their nieces and nephews like children. After Steve's death, she was blessed with meeting Don Moore and they spent 20 years together, before he also preceded her in death. Anna worked as an office manager at Bottled Gas Company, and enjoyed it up until she retired and moved to Baldwin in the late 70's. She worked for Sarah's clothing store for many years, until becoming an award winning Avon lady. She was also a member of the VFW, and would volunteer and bake cakes for all their events. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orley & Florence Sias; her husband, Steve; life partner Don; and all of her brothers and sisters, Marion, Ada, Robert, Fred and Orley Jr. Surviving are many nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends that became family.
