In Loving Memory of Ann
Ann Marie Christensen (ńee Skoboda) passed away on Friday the 13th of October. She joins her parents and beloved pets with their father in heaven. They have gained another beautiful angel to grace their presence, and we are certain she is already making fast friends.
She was born on May 21st, 1961, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She attended Northview High School and later Grand Rapids Community College. She was a Materials Engineer for almost 40 years and retired in 2020. She had spent her time raising money for American Cancer Society and Ronald McDonald house, crocheting hats for people battling cancer, coaching her children’s sports teams, going for boat rides with her husband Kurt, and watching Christmas movies in July. Ann peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family and her three dogs. She was an extraordinary wife and mom, a loyal friend, and a steadfast partner. To those who knew her, she had a zest for life, was a beacon of strength, an endless source of love, and a light in the dark.
Ann’s enduring love for helping others and gathering people together was infectious and inspiring. She will live on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and warmth. In this time of mourning, we remember Ann for the love she shared, the laughter she made, and the kindness she embodied.
Ann leaves behind a heartbroken family and friends who will forever treasure the joyous moments shared with her. She leaves behind her Husband of 27 years, Kurt of Howard City, Michigan, her son, Kyle of Marquette, Michigan, and her daughter, Zoe of Brooklyn, New York. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (John), and her nephew, Nick Garlock (Megan), and also by her brother, Michael (Roxanne), and their children; Michael (Sarah), Ashley, and Nathan. Her absence creates a void that can never be filled, but her memory will shine on.
During this difficult time of mourning, we wish to express our profound gratitude to every one of you. Our friends and family have provided us with strength and comfort throughout this challenging journey, and we are truly grateful. A celebration of life will be held in early summer of 2024. Details to come.
In lieu of flowers, even though she would have loved them, please make donations to the Ronald McDonald house in Grand Rapids or the American Cancer Society.
With deepest sympathy and love,
Kurt, Kyle, & Zoe Christensen
