Mrs. Anita Blanche SansCrainte, age 92, formerly of Allen Park, passed away Sunday morning, November 28, 2010 at her daughters home in Greenville. The daughter of Hector L. & Diana (Paquette) Emery, she was born on Jan. 11, 1918 in River Rouge and graduated from St. Henrys High School in Lincoln Park.
On May 17, 1941, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Detroit, she married Vincent W. SansCrainte and together they enjoyed nearly 66 years of matrimony, raised four children, and were longtime members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Allen Park. In 1980 she retired from Comerica Bank where she worked as an accounting control clerk in the trust and taxation department. In Greenville, Mrs. SansCrainte attended St. Charles Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent SansCrainte on Aug. 18, 2007; three brothers, Maurice Emery, Adrian Emery, and Robert Emery; and three sisters, Sister Adrianna (Patricia) Emery, O.P., Delores Fenn, and Catherine Wright.
Surviving are four children, Diana (Bob) Eakin of Greenville, Anita (Larry) Bastien of Chadwicks, New York, Bernadette (Mike) Fuller of Crestline, California, and Charles V. (Patricia) SansCrainte of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; a sister, Jackie Riopelle of Allen Park; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday from 1-8 p.m. at the Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Avenue, Allen Park, and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 9000 Laurence, Allen Park, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the Mass and burial will take place at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock.
