Angie Mae Wiley, age 78, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2020, with family by her side. She was born December 6, 1941, in Marion, Michigan to the late James and Martha (Hoeksema) Konyndyk.
Angie worked almost 30 years at the Lincoln Developmental Center in Grand Rapids Charter Township. She had a servant's heart and continually demonstrated that in all of the work she did. In her spare time and retirement Angie volunteered in the coffee shop at Blodgett Hospital with the A.M. Campbel Guild in East Grand Rapids. She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, and was an active member at Good Shepherd ECO Presbyterian Church, Grand Rapids. She was happiest and found such joy spending time with her best friends, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Monique) Wiley, Jr. and Shawn (Stephanie) Wiley; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph (Merna) Konyndyk, Harold Konyndyk, Betty Sluis; sisters-in-law Joan Konyndyk and Mamie Konyndyk; cousin, Carol Vander Ark; and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin "Bud", Warren, and Clarence; and sisters, Doris VanOveren, Lucy Ferro, and Lee Stroven.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and a celebration of Angie's life will be held at Good Shepherd ECO Presbyterian Church at the Calvin Theological Seminary Chapel (located at the corner of Burton and E. Beltline) at 4:00 on February 16th, 2020. Calling hours will begin at 2:00.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
