Angela Jean (Amante) Melville went to be with her Lord on February 23, 2019 at the age of 60 at home with her husband, Tim. She loved life until the day she left us. She spent over 30yrs as a social worker and clinical therapist serving God's families in Kent County, which she loved doing.
Angela attended Wyoming Park High School, Aquinas College and received her Master's Degree from Western Michigan University, LMSW, ACSW, DCSW.
She fought cancer for the last 13 months with chemo and radiation. Angie was very private in her own life; not too many people even know she had cancer and that's the way she wanted it. She did not want people to feel sorry for her, she was not that kind of a lady; always thinking about others first.
Angela enjoyed camping at Grand Haven State Park with Matt and Jody, and for the last five summers at their cottage on Bass Lake in Gowen, MI, where she could drive the boat better than Tim. Angela made many friends on the lake, including Sue, John & Karen, Pat & Ron, Gary & Karen, Sue J. and many more.
Angie and Tim loved to go antiquing and thrifting, vacationing in Mackinaw City & Traverse City and many trips over the years to Cancun, Mexico. Angie traveled over 20 times to Cancun with Tim and girlfriends where she wanted to retire in winter, and spend summer on Bass Lake.
Angela is survived by her husband, Tim of 19yrs; and her 2 fur babies, Pumpkin and Cake; Amante and Melville families members; good friends, Matt and Jodi Johnston, and Lori and Gary Hoogewind.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2019 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 50 Bellevue St. SW, Wyoming, Michigan officiated by Rev. Jose Luis Quintana. Visitation will be one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Harbor Humane Society West Olive Michigan in honor of Angela, as she loved all animals.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
