Amy Vanzanten

January 22, 1959 — January 10, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Amy Beth VanZanten, a compassionate, funny, loving, and smart soul. Born on January 22, 1959, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Robert and Annabelle VanZanten, Amy lived a life full of laughter, love, and joy. She had a way of lighting up a room with her infectious humor, and her smart and loving nature made her a beacon of warmth and wisdom to everyone she knew. Amy was a devoted family woman, and her love for her family was surpassed only by her Christian faith. As the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love," and Amy truly embodied this message throughout her life. Amy always had an adventurous spirit, moving from her birthplace to Libraryville, Illinois, and finally settling down in Spring Lake, Michigan, where she spent the last 20 years of her life. She dedicated two decades of work to her local grocery store, where her compassionate nature shone. Amy was known by her peers and community for her unwavering dedication and kindness to her customers. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and was a passionate football fan. Yet, what mattered most to Amy was family. Amy's family gatherings were always filled with laughter, love, and her infamous homemade pies. Amy is survived by her loving sister Claudia VanZanten, and her adoring nephew, Justin Ray. They, along with countless friends and family members, will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annabelle VanZanten, and her sister Patty VanZanten. Her memory will remain forever in our hearts, not just as the funny and loving woman she was, but also as a symbol of compassion and unwavering faith. We encourage those who knew and loved Amy to visit her memorial page at: www.MichiganCremation.com. Please share your cherished memories and photographs in celebration of her life. It is through these contributions that Amy's spirit will continue to live on, touching the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know her. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006.
