Amy Oviatt

Amy Lynn Oviatt, 52, passed away on April 29, 2023, in Grand Rapids. Amy was born on May 7, 1970, in Benton Harbor to Joan Hires and the late Charles Hires III. She grew up in Sodus and attended school at Michigan Lutheran. Amy is survived by her children, Kyle Oviatt, Callie McDonough (Daniel), and Leslie Harrison (Will), granddaughter Addison, mother Joan Hires, siblings Chuck Hires (Lis) and Terri Riemland (Brian), and nieces Natasha and Stacy. Amy was preceded in death by her husband Robert Oviatt and her father Charles Hires III. Amy will always be remembered for her kind and caring personality, and her love for animals, especially her dogs Josie and Bentley. Her distinct and infectious laughter will be missed by everyone. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and kayaking. She also adored spending time with her children and granddaughter. Services for Amy will be held at Chapel Hill Methodist Church in Sodus on May 20th. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am. Lunch will be served at the church afterwards.
