Amy Lynne Kruszkowski

January 26, 1965 — July 3, 2025

Hudsonville

Amy Lynne (Danner) Kruszkowski, age 60, of Hudsonville, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, July 3, 2025, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Amy was born on January 26, 1965, in Bay City, Michigan, to Richard Danner and Claudia (Mairs) Toms. Amy was the middle child between brothers Devon and Jason. The young family moved frequently for Richard’s work, living in many places from South Bend to Rockford. Following the divorce of her parents, Amy lived in the Grand Rapids area for most of her life. In 1984 Claudia moved the family to Belding along with her second husband, Amy’s beloved stepfather, Bob Toms. The Toms’ home in Belding has continued to be home base for Amy’s family over the last 40 years.

The joy of Amy’s life was raising her two daughters, Miranda Elizabeth (Duckworth) Harris and Moriah Rose (Duckworth) Martinez. Amy was married and divorced twice and kept her daughter’s interests at the forefront through all of life’s ups and downs. Amy loved to read and do puzzles and art projects with her children and continued to share those things with her five grandchildren. Amelia, Juliana, and Mya Martinez, and David and Elizabeth Harris loved spending time with Granny and will miss the laughter and fun she brought to their lives.

Throughout her life, Amy took every opportunity to look out for others. This included a 30-year career in public health; first in the vaccine and family planning clinics at Mid Michigan Health Department and ending with Planned Parenthood of West Michigan. Amy was a strong advocate for choice, education, and the availability of essential healthcare.

Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents George and Margaret Mairs, and her stepfather Bob Toms. Amy is survived by her parents Claudia Toms and Richard (Barb) Danner, her partner Kevin Krikke, daughters Miranda (Joel) Harris and Moriah (Chris) Martinez, brothers Devon (Robin) Danner, Jason Danner, and Arthur (Jenelle) Danner, grandchildren Amelia, David, Elizabeth, Juliana, and Mya, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Michigan for the wonderful care, compassion, and help they gave to Amy and them throughout this difficult time.

It was Amy’s wish to be cremated and to be celebrated, not mourned. A memorial picnic will be held in August for close friends and family. If you feel moved to donate in honor of Amy, please consider Planned Parenthood and Cat Trap Fever of Ionia County.
