Amanda L. Van Oostendorp, age 36, of Wyoming, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Metro Health Hospital surrounded by family and friends. The daughter of Scott & Karen (Parmeter) Van Oostendorp, she was born on February 24, 1981 in Grand Rapids. Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilma & Doug Parmeter; and uncle Clifford Parmeter. Surviving are her mother, Karen Van Oostendorp; father, Scott Van Oostendorp; brother, David Van Oostendorp; two loving dogs, Bo & Buster; grandparents, Dave & Shirley Van Oostendorp; dear friends, Randy and Jen; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Amanda was a high school graduate and went to work for Family Fare for 18 years. She loved her job but her coworkers as well as customers adored her. Amanda was an all around vibrant outgoing women that brought happiness to so many and was always making new friends. She never had an unkind word for anyone. Amanda enjoyed going to amusement parks, watching NASCAR, dressing up for all occasions and making sure to do it in style from her hair to nails. However Amanda's greatest joy was the movies. There was days she went to multiple movies in a day and even became good friends with several employees at Woodland movie theater. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at Wesley Park United Methodist Church, 1150 32nd St SW, Wyoming. With a memorial service the following day at 12 Noon with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at Wesley Park United Methodist Church, 1150 32nd St SW, Wyoming. With a memorial service the following day at 12 Noon with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place.
