Allene Ruth Wheelock, age 99, of Greenville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 just 14 days shy of her 100th birthday. The daughter of Leonard & Clara Bell (Lincoln) Snyder, she was born on May 27, 1922 in Kingsley, Michigan.

On November 16, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana, she married L.D. Wheelock and together they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until L.D. passed away on July 2, 2002.
A devoted wife and mother, Allene was also a skilled seamstress and will long be remembered as a great cook. She enjoyed camping, attending tractor shows with L.D., and spoiling her pets, but most of all delighted in time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Mildred Snyder; her husband; a brother and a sister-in-law, Gene & Betty Snyder; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Christine & Roger Jensen and Leona & Keith Nietzel; a daughter-in-law, Marge Wheelock; a grandson-in-law, Tracy Brown; a granddaughter-in-law, Leeanne Eyer; and a great-granddaughter, Kristina Pritchard.
Surviving are her children, Madelyn & Ron Eyer of Greenville, and Ronald Wheelock of Kent City; a brother, J.C. & Dorothy Snyder; three grandchildren, Ronda Brown, Douglas Eyer, and Kimberly & Ron Kent; many, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022. The Rev. Paul Dickson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Greenville, will officiate and committal services will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
