Allen Siefert

Allen Gordon Siefert, age 94, of Cedar Springs passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Herbert & Vera (Wood) Siefert, he was born on July 20, 1927 in Dorr, Michigan. On July 1, 1950, he married his soul mate Joyce Pauline DeMann. Together, they enjoyed nearly seventy-two years of marriage and raised five children. Allen was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a quiet man, mighty in faith, strong, patient, kind, full of empathy and humility. Allen was a man who served others and was deeply devoted, first to God, then his wife, and then family. His effect on those around him were like ripples on a pond, changing the world in ways no one may fully understand. His passing is a huge loss to us all. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred, Don, and Albert; and his sister, Marion. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Siefert; their children; Michael (Lawyer), Gary (Pastor), Cheryl (Teacher), Diane (Doctor), and Mary (Nurse); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
