Aline Smith

Aline Marie Smith, age 94, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 at her home under the loving care of her family and Grace Hospice. The daughter of Victor & Charlotte (Gratton) Perron, she was born on November 27, 1923 in Montmartre, Saskatchewan, Canada. On July 31, 1954 she married Donald Willard Smith, whose career brought the newlywed couple to Grand Rapids and the newly founded Foremost Insurance Company. Together, they raised three children and enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage until Donald passed away on May 14, 2016. Surviving are her three children, Carol Smith of Stanton, Willard Smith of Grand Rapids, and Mary Smith-Luther, and her husband Thomas Luther. of Eldersburg, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Roger Luther and Elizabeth Luther; and several nieces and nephews.
