Alejandra Elizabeth "Alex" Soto, age 20, of Wyoming, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, from injuries received in an automobile accident while traveling to Florida. In her death, Alex gave the gift of life by being an organ and tissue donor... a gift that will help nearly one hundred people in need of life saving transplants and tissues.
She was born on September 25, 1995 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and is survived by her parents, Eugenio & Miguelina (Llaneras) Soto; her birth mother, Maritza Rodriguez; her son, Elijah Miguel Jimenez-Soto; her fiance, Jose Jimenez; sisters and brothers, Milixabel Soto, Julia Soto, Erica Soto, Ivonne Torres, Jose Miguel Serrano, Jose Alberto Serrano, Angelica Maria Soto, and Liz Marie Velez; and many other dear relatives and friends
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), where the Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. The family will also receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9-11 am at the Shrine of St. Francis Xavier & Our Lady of Guadalupe, 250 Brown Street S.E., Grand Rapids, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Rev. Father Jose Luis Quintana will officiate and Rite of Committal will follow at Garfield Park Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
