Albert Fischer

Albert J. Fischer, age 90, formerly of Langston, Grand Rapids, and Stanton, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at The Laurels of Carson City. The son of Frances K. (Sassman) & William C. Fischer, he was born on June 3, 1928 in Highland Park. Al worked as a security guard for Pinkerton at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company, enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and was an avid fan of Detroit Tigers baseball. A generous person, he donated faithfully to several charitable causes. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gertrude Clingensmith and Helen Oberseig; and a brother, William Fischer. Affectionately know as "Unc", he is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and great-great-great nieces and great-great-great nephews. Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Riverside Cemetery in Langston.
