Albert J. Fischer, age 90, formerly of Langston, Grand Rapids, and Stanton, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at The Laurels of Carson City. The son of Frances K. (Sassman) & William C. Fischer, he was born on June 3, 1928 in Highland Park.
Al worked as a security guard for Pinkerton at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company, enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and was an avid fan of Detroit Tigers baseball. A generous person, he donated faithfully to several charitable causes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gertrude Clingensmith and Helen Oberseig; and a brother, William Fischer.
Affectionately know as "Unc", he is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and great-great-great nieces and great-great-great nephews.
Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Riverside Cemetery in Langston.
