Alan Snyder

Alan Louis Snyder, age 74, of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of William Edgar & Allie Sophia (Castle) Snyder, he was born on March 3, 1946 in Howard City. On May 7, 2003, he married Colleen Gladys Snyder and together they enjoyed nearly 17 years of marriage. Alan retired from Mercy Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids after 30 years of service as a mechanic in hospital's plant operations department. He was a member of the Newaygo North Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Billie Martin, Kenneth Snyder, Donna Doxtator, and triplet infant siblings, Cherry, Penny, and Douglas; his parents-in-law, Kenneth & Vera Snyder; and siblings-in-law, Robert Weaver, Richard Weaver, Kenneth B. Snyder, and Kathleen Snyder. Surviving are his wife, Colleen G. Snyder of White Cloud; his former wife, Judith K. (Dingman) Snyder of Newaygo; his children, Chris & Tracy Snyder of White Cloud, Erin & Eric Kangas of Stanwood, and Greg & Dani Snyder of Morley; step-children, Darcy Andrewz of Irons, Jerry Kenneth & Kimberlee Masunas of Irons; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd & Judy Snyder of Howard City; a sister, Linda & Bob Porterfield of Yuma; siblings-in-law, Sandra Wilson of Hampton , South Carolina, Stanley & Patricia Snyder of Midland, and Terri & John Lasby of St. Clair Shores; and several nieces and nephews.
