Agnes Lenhart

October 5, 1925 — June 9, 2019

Agnes Veronica Lenhart, age 93, of Byron Center, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her many loved ones who preceded her in death. The daughter of John and Nora (Weber) Rewa, she was born on October 5, 1925. Her hardworking spirit was fortified in her German-American roots and through being from our greatest generation. She was a devout, lifelong member of St. Mary's Visitation Parish to which she was dedicated in faith and service. She married Arnold Lenhart on May 5, 1945. Together they raised six children and ran a dairy farm for 32 years until Arnold's death. Agnes married Norman Lenhart on May 25, 1979, joining their families and sharing a love of travel. Her faith carried her through the losses of both her husbands and her infant daughter. She fostered a love of reading, sharing books with family and friends. Agnes was renowned for her thoughtfully handwritten letters which she sent for occasions big and small. An avid baker and talented quilter, she will be warmly remembered for making the best cherry pie and welcoming each new grandchild with a lovingly handmade quilt. She is survived by her sister, Florence Squire, as well as her many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed. She married Arnold Lenhart on May 5, 1945.
